IF SOMONE CAN HOST FOR ME:

I have some really cool maps and levels that are good for Scrum, BM and even CTF. I was wondering if smoone could host em up with a rotation of my mods. If somone could do that, it would be greatly appreciated.

IF SOMONE CAN TELL ME WHY I CANT HOST

When I host a dedicated server or a regular server, no one sees it.

If somone could tell me why I cant host, mods can have some fun XD

Viggy......... :)

EDIT: I am also wondering something else, does anyone konw why I cant place trees and rock on my mods in MW? Gawd, im so incompetent.

You need to rename your mission file, terrain datablock terrain file and.ter file to TT#_#.mis (where # is a number).

@Gen - you have to be more informative
"I can launch a dedicated misision just fine but no one sees it"
or
"My TT crashes when I launch a dedicated mission"
or
"When I went to get a dedicated batch file to launch my Mod , there was no dedicated
folder! What now?"

@Shocker and vig part 2
Monica answered the rocks and trees question ^^
For Mod Wiz to do that, the map name must be in the TT1_#.ter format
Where the # is the number of your map. For example TT1_5.ter or TT1_6.ter
But dont leave the map name in that format when you are finished Modding
Change it back to your unique name (like uh Roo43.ter)

Gen - I might be able to help. I had the same problem, but managed to fix it. I need to know your system information:
- Are you running a Firewall (such as ZoneAlarm)?
- Are you on a network? (Wireless or other)

On a PC, go to Control Panel > Security Center > Windows Firewall.
Turn it completely off and run your server again.

I actually have no problems with the Windows Firewall. ZoneAlarm Free seems to block all communication in and out. And if he is on a network (for instance I've got a wireless network), he has to point the ports to his computer's IP.

I have wireless... How do you fix that?

Pray to GOD for him to reveal himself to you.

Get your computer's IP Address on the network. Go to the wireless network's admin page, and Port Redirect ports 28000-28010 to your IP Address.

Well, im on a desktop, but its wireless. I dunno if that helps at all.....

So, if I turn off my firewall, won't that make me vulnarable to viruses? And will it always work?

Friday, March 24, 2006 at 9:11:42 PM

I don't think you want to turn off the entire firewall if you can avoid it. Depending on your firewall, you should be able to allow commnication on those ports. The problem with ZoneAlarm Free is that it blocks ALL traffic to and from your computer. The purchased ZoneAlarm doesn't have that problem though, just the freeware version.

I removed ZoneAlarm Free from my computer and am using the standard Windows Firewall on a LinkSys wireless network.

Fixing the firewall and enabling Port Forwarding on the network is all it took to enable my hosting.
