Nah, you can do a search on GameSpy, and there are no articles found. So I suspect a prank as well. A very well done prank, but a prank nonetheless. XD

Here are my reasons why it is fake:

1. Garage Games hosts the master server, not shockwave.
2. There is no link directly to an article on Gamespy, instead, it is a screen shot of the page that was edited to look like a valid article.
3. What are those red dots under the words?
4. Xbox 360? There is no TT for the Xbox 360. And there is nobody on the Xbox Arcade version of TT.
5. "The GarageGames master server, which is only used by a small handful of fanatic ThinkTanks fans" What about Orbz, Zap, DH: Lore, and all the other GG multiplayer games? The master server is not only used for TT, but for those other games aswell.

Interesting article however Shockwave still sell the game. Something smells fishy here!!! Also why isn't GarageGames taking ownership over the Master Servers? It is their game after all!!!!

Master server is back.

This is patently false, the master server is not run by Shockwave.

The server is actually run from a remote island in the South Pacific. In order to keep it running, every 108 minutes someone needs to type the code "4 8 15 16 23 42" into a console. Shortly before time is up, an alarm goes off and the console then become operable for typing during that short window of time. If the code does not get typed in durrnig that time, the master server goes down.

Fortunately it's not too hard to reboot, and it's up and running again. :)

_{Next time email me, or Pokemalo and tell us it's down, and we'll walk over and kick the guy in charge of rebooting it.}
