Now, hear me out on this, I'm just saying my opinion, no offence to ANYONE!
But I think there are some good admins out there and there are some as quoted in another thread (my resources are not being told) "snot nosed" admins out there.
And most admins are working their butts off for us, weather their good at being an admin or not.
We all make mistakes so I think we should keep most of these threads about admin mistakes a little more.. Simple..
I also think we need to be careful about how players are treated as well.
I mean we should all be able to have our opinions without being..erm..ban.
But as someone has said before "If we have a problem we need evidence".
My suggestion would be to take pics of the happening (control p).
Because sometimes it isnt about what you think it is.
I made a mistake before, I didnt talk to the guy about why I was ban from a server, instead out of anger I just reported him here on PTT. And when I talked to him later he said it was no big deal.
So I think we should talk stuff over before we bring it to the table.

The server admins are chosen by the server owner, so the first avenue to resolution of a problem is to email the server owner. If the server owner chooses to ban you then it's tough luck for you.

At that point you may wish to inform the PTT community via a thread in case others wish to boycott or petition the server owner over the matter.

In any case there's no reason to be uncivilized about any of it.

I have always though that silencing and being kicked pre-empted being banned. I not referring to those who imposter, or the elite already on the ban list.

Players who are routinly playing or new players should have things explained to them, a silencing and a kick, inmy opinion should be used before banning.

Ignore script
I think the player has the right to put anyine on ignore, Yes even me as the server owner. As long as I'm not in the process of working with that person, I feel it's a player preference. That's why is resides in the client directory.

Players should not be booted or banned for silencing other players or admins. The admins can still do thier work and explain to the other players. If the client (who invoked the ingnore script) can't see the explanation, then that's their shortcoming for using the ignore.

Just my thoughts, similar but varying form other admins I'm sure.

I agree that putting the admin on ignore is not a problem. That doesn't keep the admins from preventing disruptive behavior.

I dont care though.... My opinion is, kicking someone as a warning before a ban, and ignore script shouldnt be taken as an insult.

The admins I h8 is Crapblaster, and wiz the silence me for no reason and I got banned form leps for no reason

I play the game, I keep to myself a lot, unless under alias :P but admins do good. Except some, I've seen one in action before, and just left the sever, I really didn't care. They are being chldish, nuff said. And the ignoreing? Please get over urself.

Players should have the right to ignore an admin as long as they aren't currently communicating with one. Sometimes I will ignore everyone in the room for a game just for some peace and quiet! That isn't a crime!

Yes. Players should not be banned for ignoring an admin or a moderator of a certain server. Ignoring is their desicion, they may just not like you. If their friendly with the public, just not you, doesn't give you the right to ban that person. That is a little bit of a "don't make me angry or else" type of thing. Blackmail, if you would.

... But I am sure alot of people will post here and agree with us, just for the public. When they administrate a game however... I think that attitude towards ignoring will change dramatically.

But you should be able to put an admin on /I if they aren't telling you anything.

Yes, by virtue of the disruption caused, not by the action of putting the admin on ignore. Because the player who put the admin on ignore can't receive chat from him, the admin would simply ban him at the first disruption event. So putting the admin on ignore greatly increases your chance of getting banned if you are percieved to be disrupting the game (killing the buzz).

Some admins I hate are:

Lonewolf (I think he is a terrible admin and I think he shouldnt be able to be admin in ANY servers) I absolutely hate him as an admin!!

Look, like Racer said, there is always a reason for being banned. I've never been banned from a server! I play like a normal person. I listen to admins. If you think that an admin is stupid, so what. The owner of a server gives a great power to these admins. If you have a problem with admins, don't bother with that server. And, one thing that I HATE is that brats seem to think that they can come crawling back to PlanetThinkTanks and whine there yap off about Admins! XO

If you were banned from MadBots, a very popular server, by an admin, than don't come crawling back here. If you think that you can get out of trouble by claiming that you didn't do anything, then you have another thing coming! Once you are banned from a server, that's your problem, not ours. Yo can get yourself banned from every server there is, and I wont give a damn! Get yourself banned, fix the problem yourself! E-mailing the owner of the server is a last resort. If you are so ignorant that you really don't know what you did, than you don't deserve to be let back into that server. And that's that...

And, I cannot see what all of you think is so bad about LONEWOLF! He is a great guy, and if you abide to the rules that you all know, than you shouldn't have a problem. Admins are what make ThinkTanks great, there is nothing wrong with them. If an admin joins a server (after being given the pass from the owner), and bans anyone who joins, he is doing his job. Admins got the pass somehow, and if the owner of the server has a problem with this ban spree, than he/she should have done a better job picking his admins, huh? You can complain all you want, but admins are admins, and there is nothing you can do to change an admins idea on what's right and what's wrong!

Those of you who can't stand certain admins, than forget them. I'm almost positive that most of you that cry about bad admins wouldn't give a second thought about the server the admin was incharge of unless you where banned from it.

Get over yourselves. :'(

Apparently, most of you think that ignoring an admin is ok, and admins that ban people for this are bad admins. An admin has his/her opinions, and what they think goes.

Just try to keep in mind what Lonewolf is doing is trying to keep the game in check. He could just play and mot be inconvenienced by admin'ing games at all.

There are many games that simply suck for admins, because all of the overhead of trying to keep games even disrupts the flow of tthe games for that admin.

Yes, when I go to servers that are largly populated, just to admin everything, you wouldn't believe how much I just want to play. Anyone who is an admin has helped make a server fun, even if it means making a few enemies...

Ya, it's not easy to count and keep track of the totals for two colors of dots. 8o

Well I think that those in the admin circle (myself included %) ) are pretty spot on admins ;) Nap, Roo, Lone are a few that come to mind right off the bat, and there are certainly plenty others who are upholding justice and keeping the private servers spic and span. B)

I dunno if Roo will keep me as an admin now that my TBML team whooped his poultry behind in our last match ;) :P (lol)

Some admins are great ... Some are real pains ...

I've been reading the recent threads that come up about "this admin banned me for no reason" and so on.

Too often, when the server owner takes a look, the person whining about admins did something that isn't going to be accepted. Sometimes it involves bad language, or giving an admin an attitude. Sometimes it's just a simple misunderstanding, too.

I think all the admins do a great job. I don't always agree with how quickly they act, but they are doing a service to this community.

I'm not in support of banning someone if they ignore an admin, but if they get kicked, return, continue to cause problems (even if it's ping), and then put the admin on ignore, then I fully support a ban of limited duration. (days?)

If that pattern continues for a time, then it's fair to ban their buns for extended times. Thanks admins!

Oh, btw, some of this drama reminds me of kids at school who don't take responsibility for their actions... Even though they are fully responsible. If that shoe fits you, wear it.

I never knew what a pain it was to be an admin until I became one, what most don't know is an admin may actually play 10 minutes of a 15 minute match because of whinning, complaining, new people that can't seem to freakin count that there are already 5 green and 2 blue on a team and join Green. So the Admin is having to pause and let each person know that he is going to change their team, then what really sux is some idiot comes up behind you while your doing this and blasts the crap outta ya. BTW that takes real talent to hit a stationary target(Sarcasm). So if your not an admin just try keeping a few of these things in mind next time ya wanna whine or complain, the guy is doing the best he can, he aint getting paid, he does it because he wants to help and to keep a good flowing game going.

Maybe someday admins should put the burden of all the hard work they have to go through with all the freaks and idiots they deal with on PTT, and TT games on you!

I think its ok to give your opinion about admins, but dont put them down just because they ban some1 with the IP 134 instead of banning the freak with the IP 135.
