Napalm posted your request in the admin forum. Now it's slowly simmering. :)
I'm not sure I get this. There's really not a lot of technical info regarding modding unless you go looking for it.
What I mean by that is:
You can get TGE and add the mod pack
Open one of dash's mods, make all the changes you want
Save it as KC1
If you looking to go right into the technical stuff, then your just going to confuse yourself more than need be to start with. And then I have already provided the tech pdf's that tell how things actually are rather than someone who thinks they know what it's for.
Sometimes I just don't get it. I have offere you (and some others) an actual live modding experience by using remote desktop. It seems that many people want to learn things but only how THEY want it presented. How many wore modding thread or "how-to's" are needed?
I'm not sure what to tell you, but get the stuff and play with it. I'm no longer going to be making these type of periodicals as it's far faster for someone to learn things by seeing them, than it is to try and IM them, or convey a simple suggestion through the written word.
My offers still stand for those who are serious about learning TGE.
Maybe it would be of more value if I said I wanted to charge people for it.

This thread can now be deleted.
Thx
Looks like from the last 4 posts you have re-thought what you wrote, deleted the nice version, and got pissed and reposted.
I didn't post that information to upset you, don't take it that way. KC is a great guy, I consider you my friend.
Just one thought, If I wanted to get at your machine (you not being technical) and me providing instructions, couldn't I just make some sneaky instructions to make you allow me into your machine? Personally I thought there was a bit more trust between us, but maybe I'm just more relaxed about this.
You don't need to delete the thread or stop asking questions. In fact maybe you can start a TT tech jargon thread for specific terms you don't understand.
I think because you don't know this (TGE) your adding more mystery to it than there really is. I have done that with other things too. It's really not all that hard.
The basics to get a mod going are not all that involved. The first thing I would suggest is to decide how you want to approach your "set up"
It appears to me there are several methods people like to use.
TT_27.mis naming convention.
MMlush11.mis or Roo183.mis (specific to the creator)
Sweetwaterbay.mis (specific and descriptive)
My thoughts on the above^
I don't like the TT convention because it conflicts with others I'm sure there have been a TT_15 several times and the people looking for a specific map will have no idea what map is what. I understand some people lso use this because they use mod wiz to place trees and such in the mod after TGE. Again, Not the best approach in my opinion.
The MMlush style is better as it does get more descriptive as to who the author is but again, no clue what map is what.
The last is the method I prefer. Most people know the names of the maps they like. Typically when someone really likes a map they will say, "what's the name of this map?"
This is the most descriptive, and it's very rare to have two maps named identically.
See we're only this far and I'm already tired of typing all of this out. I have only written half of what I wanted to convey here too. I stink at typing and this is very ineffecient.
I would suggest doing a few sessions with IM (voice conference) because all of this information can be exchanged so quickly.
Let me know what you want to do.

Now if make a to tutorial you'll just end up with a whole new list of questions.
If you made a thread that was a list of FAQ and then fot the answers you put a link to the post that best answers it. Then if the person still didn't understand they could ask their question in the link, (but only if their qustion was directly related to that answer). That answer would become more through as time went on. And if you locked the FAQ thread so only moderators could add FAQ's and links to answers, you would save everyone alot of time.
I know becouse I spent a lot of time looking through the threads. I learned to MOD and TGE and have only started 12 thread asking for help the whole time, but have looked through 1000's of post for answers.
And you got to admit learning modding and TGE and asking only 12 questions ain't to bad for a construction worked that ain't behind a computer much.
The only thing that comes from a tutorial is more questions
The only reason I had to look through 1000's of post for answers was becouse I couldn't find my questions isn't that really what your asking us to do when you tellus to find our answer in the past post? We must find the question first to get to the answer.
KC what do you think? Maybe this work
